There are several large tables in the center of the floor, as well as a few individual tables and standing height desks along its perimeter, all intended for quiet study.No food is permitted in Regenstein's bookstacks.

Regenstein has 19 group studies that may be reserved for up to 3 hours a day by groups of two or more users via Book a Room whenever Regenstein is open. Group studies are located in the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th Floor Reading Rooms.

The Classics Reading Room, located off of the 4th Floor Reading Room, houses the Classics Reading Room reference collection and provides quiet study space. Priority should be given to patrons making use of the Classics reference collection.

The K-12 Curriculum Materials Collection Room, located off the 5th Floor Reading Room, houses the K-12 Curriculum Materials Collection, which supports the Urban Teacher Education Program (UTEP).

A joint project of UChicagoGRAD and the Library, the GRAD Writing Room is intended to be a quiet, focused destination where graduate students and postdocs can write academic projects. Access to the room is controlled electronically and managed by UChicagoGRAD.

Library Classrooms are primarily intended for formal instruction sessions by library staff and special class sessions by University faculty. During regular teaching hours, groups may use library classrooms on a first come, first served basis only when the classroom has not been reserved for an instruction session. Groups should vacate a classroom at least 10 minutes prior to the start time of a posted session. Groups may reserve library classrooms outside of regular teaching hours only.
Ex Libris Cafe Ex Libris Cafe

Ex Libris Cafe is a student-run cafe located in the northeast corner of the 1st Floor of Regenstein. The café provides a welcoming space that can comfortably seat 75 users. Faculty, students and staff who wish to take a break from their work in Regenstein can enjoy access to food and beverage services at reasonable prices in an attractive space. Ex Libris’ menu includes fresh panini, cold sandwiches, salads, sushi, assorted pastries, desserts, candy and snacks, in addition to a full coffee and espresso bar with a loose leaf tea service. When Ex Libris is closed, the seating area remains open as a space to take a break to eat and drink during all the hours that Regenstein is open, including All-Night Study hours. Vending machines are also available in the space.
Viewing and Listening Room Viewing & Listening Room (Room 307)

The Viewing & Listening Room, located in Regenstein's 3rd Floor Reading Room, contains equipment for playing a variety of audiovisual formats. All equipment requires headphones. Patrons who wish to use Room 307 may borrow a key from Regenstein Circulation on the 1st Floor.
Regenstein Art Reading Room Art Reading Room (Room 420)

The Art Reading Room houses the East Asian Art Collection and the Epstein Archive. Priority should be given to patrons making use of these collections. No food is allowed in the Art Reading Room.
