The University of Chicago Library provides a number of restroom facilities throughout its on-campus locations. For details about a specific library, see the entries below.

Restrooms for users with Disabilities

Each library provides restrooms accessible to users with disabilities. See entries for individual libraries below for specific locations.

Single User Restrooms / All Gender Restrooms / Family Restrooms / Mother's Room

Single user restrooms are available in Eckhart Hall, Crerar Library, Regenstein Library, and the Crown Family School building, and are open to all genders. Single user restrooms in Regenstein and SWL are equipped with changing tables and may be used as family restrooms; the single user restrooms in Eckhart Hall and Crerar may be used as a family restroom but are not equipped with a changing table.

Regenstein and Crerar each provide a Mother's Room for the use of nursing mothers currently affiliated with the University and visiting researchers using the Library's collections. Regenstein's Mother's Room is located on the B-Level, while Crerar's Mother's Room is on the 1st floor.

Crerar

Restrooms in Crerar are located near the stairwell, as well as on the north side of the 1st floor and the east side of the lower level. A single user restroom is available on the first floor, near the southwest corner of the building. All restrooms are accessible to users with disabilities.

D'Angelo Law

Restrooms are located in the elevator lobbies on the third, fourth, fifth, and sixth floors. There are also restrooms on the west side of the Wilson Reading Room on the second floor. All restrooms are accessible to users with disabilities.

Eckhart

There are no restrooms within Eckhart Library itself. The nearest women's restroom is located on the 2nd Floor of Eckhart Hall east of the library; the nearest men's restroom and single user restroom are located on the 1st Floor of Eckhart Hall west of the elevator. All restrooms are accessible to users with disabilities.

Mansueto

The restrooms serving Mansueto Library are located on the 1st floor of Regenstein Library, at the west end of the corridor leading to Mansueto. Both restrooms are accessible to users with disabilities.

Regenstein

Restrooms are located west of the main elevators on every floor. Two additional restrooms are located on the 1st Floor at the west end of the corridor leading to Mansueto. Restrooms are also located on the east perimeter of the 2nd-5th Floor bookstacks.

All restrooms on the 1st Floor, A Level, B Level, and 2nd Floor reading room are accessible to users with disabilities. Single user restrooms accessible to users with disabilities are located on the 3rd-5th floors west of the main elevators with the other reading room restrooms. Restrooms in the bookstacks are not accessible to users with disabilities.

The single user restrooms in the 3rd-5th floor reading rooms are also equipped with changing tables and may be used as family restrooms. In addition, the restrooms on the 1st Floor nearest Mansueto are equipped with changing tables.

Social Work

There are no restrooms within the Social Work Library itself. Two single user restrooms are located on the 1st floor of the Crown Family School building, west of the entrance to the Social Work Library. Both restrooms are accessible to users with disabilities; both are also equipped with changing tables and may be used as family restrooms.
