(IBHE)
IBHE is the body that oversees public universities and colleges in the State; that grants authority for private institutions to operate in the State and grant degrees; and that administers a variety of federally-funded programs and grants covering all of the higher education community. IBHE's statuatory authority stems from several laws and the full-texts are available. The website offers a wide variety of studies and reports, information about budgets and funding, as well as descriptions of programs and policy initiatives. (ISBE)
As the agency that oversees K-12 educational matters in Illinois, its website offers information about the Illinois Learning Standards, various assessment tools and surveys, teacher education and certification, federal and state legislation, and educational finance. It offers a retrieval mechanism, called ILEARN, for looking up summary financial data on the public education programs of different counties in the State. Also available are Illinois School Report Cards for every school in the State. - The Center: Resources for Teaching
and Learning
The Center is a not-for-profit corporation that provides a broad range of professional development services and instructional resources for school communities throughout Illinois and the nation. Its broad range of programs span from early education through adult learning. Presently The Center each year provides support, training and assistance to more than 25,000 teachers, administrators, parents and other educational stakeholders. The Center online offers resources for learning at all age levels and in a variety of settings including workplace education. Superintendents of Schools(IARSS)
The purpose of IARSS is to support the roles of the superintendents and Regional Offices of Education in Illinois in their efforts to promote quality education. The website includes organizational information such as a Directory of Regional Superintendants, a summary of administrative responsibilities, a listing of professional development activities, employment vacancy announcements and information about program initiatives in areas such as reading and scientific literacy.
