This collection consists of material on the 1966 Florence, Italy flood, the damage it caused, and the subsequent restoration that was undertaken.

Biographical Note

Harold Tribolet was a lecturer at the University of Chicago, the Library of Congress and the New York State Historic Association. He worked for R.R. Donnelley & Sons Co. from 1927-1973. He was also a consultant in Florence, Italy after the flood of 1966. In 1970 he received a U. S. Presidential Commendation for his work in Italy.

Scope Note

The collection contains black and white photographs, several reports, articles and books on the flood and the process of restoration.
