Scope Note

Part of the famous Scholastic History (Historia scholastica) by Petrus Comestor (active in the 12th century), a Biblical scholar. Comestor's Scholastic History was the standard work on Biblical history in the late middle ages, and remained in heavy use throughout the 16th century. This manuscript ends at III Kings, even though the original continues through the Acts of the Apostles. Includes extensive marginal notes.

Bound in stamped pigskin over wooden boards.

Text in Latin.
