Title: Student Assistant for Korean Acquisition
Schedule (Hrs/Week): 10
General Summary:
Under the direction of the Head of East Asian Technical Services, Librarian for Korean Studies and Korean Bibliographic Assistant following departmental guidelines, the Student Assistant enter order records in III or future integrated library system for Korean materials selected by Librarian for Korean Studies. Performs work in accordance with Library standards and procedures.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Performs duplicate check in integrated library system (20%)
- Enters order records into III (or future integrated library system) (25%)
- Creates excel file with order information in Korean (25%)
- Enters records for gifts in Horizon (or future integrated library system) (5%)
- Under the instructions of Librarian for Korean Studies and Korean Bibliographic Assistant corresponds with vendors (5%)
- Keeps statistics (10%)
- Other duties as assigned (10%)
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of Korean language is required
- Ability to work independently and effectively is required
- Attention to detail is required
- Skills in working with a variety of computer applications is required
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to push/pull book trucks and to lift up to 50 pounds
