Requesting Copies

While visiting the Center, researchers are welcome to request copies from bound volumes or from archival boxes. Staff will provide order forms and supplies, and assist you in submitting requests. The procedures for requesting copies are as follows:

From Bound Volumes
Use one request form for each volume or multi-part set. On each form, list the page numbers or describe any special features or unnumbered pages for the pages to be copied. Insert blue paper strips to mark the pages you wish to be copied. The copy limit is 50 pages per bound volume.

From Archival Boxes
Use one request form for each box. On each form, provide a folder number, a brief description of the document and the number of pages for each item to be copied. Attach the blue paper strips with plastic clips to the top edge of each item, then return it to its proper place in the folder. The copy limit is 50 pages per archival box.

Copying is limited to materials in sound physical condition and not subject to legal or donor restrictions. All requests for copies are subject to staff approval.

Permission to copy does not convey the right to reproduce or publish the material. Readers must submit written requests for permission to reproduce or publish material from the collections. Some publication projects may be subject to a use fee.
