Consists of newspapers, a magazine, and a newsprint flyer, mainly relating to the 1871 Chicago fire. Publications included in the collection are Western Rural Times, Chicago Times, Chicago Daily Tribune, Chicago Illustrated, and Chicago Tribune. Also contains illustrations of bulidings planned and constructed between October 1871 and October 1872. Includes one item, dated 1909, not related to the fire.
