DOE Information Bridge: Provides open source to full-text and bibliographic records of the Department of Energy research and development reports from 1995 forward. Energy Research Abstracts is a complementary print index located in the Crerar Reference Collection at Z5853 .P83 U59 and covers 1975-1995 DOE reports.
DTIC Technical Reports Database: Defense Technical Information Center (DTIC) makes available Department of Defense-related information. The Technical Reports database makes the last eleven years of unclassified reports searchable to the public over the web.
Energy Citations Database: Energy Citations contains bibliographic records for energy and energy-related scientific and technical information from the Department of Energy (DOE) and its predecessor agencies, the Energy Research & Development Administration (ERDA) and the Atomic Energy Commission (AEC). The Database provides access to DOE publicly available citations from 1948 through the present, with continued growth through regular updates.
EPA Online Library System (OLS): Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) produces technical reports in the various areas of environmental sciences and engineering, usually with report numbers starting "EPA." The printed EPA Publications Bibliography is shelved in the Crerar Reference Collection at Z5863 .P7 U59.
E-Print Network: Tool for single query, distributed search across multiple e-print web resources, including arXiv, CLEO, SLAC, various university sites, and more.
GrayLit Network: Developed by the Department of Energy's Office of Scientific and Technical Information (OSTI), in collaboration with DOD/DTIC, NASA, and EPA, the GrayLIT Network is a portal for technical report information generated through federally funded research and development projects. Collections that are searchable include DOE Information Bridge, DTIC Report Collection, NASA JPL Report, NASA Langley Technical Reports.
NASA Technical Reports Server (NTRS): Index to Scientific and Technical Aerospace Reports (STAR), with bibliographic citations for technical reports, journal articles and conference proceedings, 1962 to date. The printed version of this index is shelved in the Crerar Reference Collection at Z5063 .S4, but stops in 1995.
Networked Computer Science Technical Reports Library (NCSTRL): NCSTRL (pronounced "ancestral") is an international collection of computer science technical reports from CS departments (including the University of Chicago) and industrial and government research laboratories, made available for non-commercial and eduational use. New Publications of the USGS: The United States Geological Survey (USGS) publishes may technical report series, including the Open File Reports (OFR) series (check the online catalog for specific holdings of the OFR series). The electronic copy covers from 1995 to date, and the paper copy is located in the Crerar Reference Collection at Z6034 .U49 A1 and begins with 1962. Additional full text publications and bibliographic information from USGS are available in the easy to search and use USGS Publications Warehouse.
NTIS Electronic Catalog: National Technical Information Service (NTIS) makes available the latest research sponsored by the United States and select foreign governments. Subject coverage in the NTIS Database includes: agriculture, biotechnology, business, communication, energy, engineering, environment, health and safety, medicine, research and development, science, space, technology, and transportation; most records include abstracts. The complete file dates back to 1964, with approximately 100,000 new records added annually. The full database is not available for searching, but this home page lists a great deal of information about the organization, publications and services from NTIS. The printed version of the NTIS Database is the Government Reports Announcements and Index (with some minor title/call number changes in the past, but all are shelved together) and is shelved in the Crerar Reference Collection at Z7913 .G731 and spans from 1946 to 1996.
Rand Reports: The Rand Corporation is a private non-profit organization which publishes information on public policy issues, including topics relating to science and technology. Most of the Rand Reports are located in The Joseph Regenstein Library in the general stacks at AS36 .R24 -- consult the online catalog for specific information. A printed copy of the Rand Abstracts can be located in the Regenstein Library General Reference Collection at AS36 .R253.
