Currently, the only way to import records from the University of Chicago Library Catalog into your EndNote libraries is by using a connection file. Connection files allow you to search a library catalog using EndNote's custom search interface and then import selected records directly into your library.
EndNote X2 comes installed with connection files for the University of Chicago Library Catalog. Users of older versions must download the appropriate connection file for the Library Catalog linked below.
Endnote versions X2 and X3 include the correct connection file for using the Library Catalog. Older versions require an updated connection file.
Select the link below for the version of EndNote that you have installed on your computer. Save the file in the "Connections" folder in your EndNote program folder.
PCs: usually C:\Program Files\Endnote\Connections
Macs: usually Applications Folder -> EndNote -> Connections
Note to Safari Users: Hold down the CTRL key when selecting the desired file. Then save the file under Applications/EndNote/Connections.
Once you have installed the connection file, you are ready to begin searching the Library Catalog. You can search the Library Catalog using the connection file from both on and off-campus.
