The E-Journals Database lists the journals, newspapers, and magazines that can be accessed online through the University of Chicago Library.
The E-Journals database provides two options for locating online journals--an A-Z list and a search feature. Since the Library provides access to tens of thousands of online publications, using the A-Z listing can be cumbersome--especially when looking for a title that begins with a popular word, such as "American" or "Journal". As a result, we recommend the search option.
The default search is "Starts With". This is best if you know the name of the publication. Otherwise, you may get better results with the "Keyword" search option. Be sure not to use an abbreviated title for your search. Many article citations will abbreviate the publication title. The E-Journals database does not recognize abbreviated titles.
Once you search for the title of the publication, you will get a list of possible results. The closest hit will appear at the top.

Clicking on the "i" icon will provide a summary of online
holdings. To access the various options available for locating the
publication you want, click on
.
After making your selection, another window will appear, listing the services available for that title. If the full-text is available, under "Find it Online" you will find links to the various databases which include the title and what issues are available. If the issue or dates that you need are not available, a link for searching the Library Catalog will be available under "Find it at the Library."

If you do not find a publication using the E-Journals Database, you should also search the Library Catalog to see if the Library has the publication in print.
Find It! is not always perfect. If the information is not clear, or if you don't get the results that you expect, please contact a librarian.
