Research Starting Points
Recommended Article Databases by Subject Area
Below are some suggested resources to start with when you are looking for articles. However, the Library has many more databases than what is listed below which can be located using the Database Finder or refering to our Research Guides by Subject. For the best search results, we also recommend that you review our Database Search Techniques before using these resources.
To locate the full-text of the articles, click the Find It! button (included in most of the databases). You will also need to be connected to the campus network to access all of the resources listed below.
Multidisciplinary databases to start with:
- Academic Search Premier is a good place to begin research in the humanities and social sciences.
- Web of Science is a good place to begin research in the sciences.
- JSTOR
includes full-text of academic journals in all subjects, but does not contain
articles published in the last 5 years..
