The Library has seven computer workstations in the John P. Wilson Reading Room on the second floor for accessing the Library Catalog, licensed databases, and other computer resources. You can use the Available Computers page to see which of these computers are currently available. To use one of the Library's computers, you must log in with your CNetID. Users without an active CNetID may use the computers with a temporary login. See the Library's Computer Services page for more information. Printing is available to the Library's printers for thirteen cents per page using a Chicago card or vended card obtained from the Reserve Collections Room across from the Circulation Desk.
Researchers needing to search only the Library Catalog may use the designated computer in the Reserve Collections Room.
For more information about using computers in other campus libraries, see the Library's Computing Services page.
For information on wireless access for visiting researchers, see the Library's page on Visitor Access to the University's Wireless Network and the Library's Licensed Online Resources.
The Law School operates a computer lab, for the use of law students only, on the third floor. The computers in the lab require a Law School login. Questions about logging into these computers should be directed to the Computer Lab Manager in the third floor computer lab.
The Law School also provides a dedicated video conference system for student use in Room 514. Students must follow these instructions to make their request.
Most carrels and reading tables in the library are furnished with Ethernet jacks for law students to use laptop computers to access the Internet. Questions about connecting laptops to the network should be directed to the Computer Lab Manager in the third floor computer lab or by telephone at 702-4493. The Law School has a wireless network which is available in the second floor Wilson reading room and at study tables and carrels on the upper floors. To access the wireless network, you must log in with your CNetID.
The LexisNexis printers for Law School students are located in the third floor computer lab.
Law students are allowed to print 1,200 pages per academic year free of charge. To print to the Law School printers from your personal laptop, you need to download a print client from the Law School IT page.
