D'Angelo Law Library Featured in New Architecture Book

The D’Angelo Law Library appears on the cover of an important new book about Chicago architecture, Southern Exposure: the Overlooked Architecture of Chicago's South Side, by Lee Bey. Southern Exposure features notable works of architecture on the South Side, including churches, schools, business, and residences, from Victorian to modern. Architects include Eero Saarinen (architect of the Law School and the D’Angelo Law Library), Helmut Jahn, and pioneering black Chicago architects like John Moutoussamy (the Johnson Publishing Building) and Roger Margerum. Many of the works are neglected by architecture critics and historians and many important buildings have failed to gain legal landmark status and been destroyed.

Southern Exposure is available now from the Northwestern University Press, and will appear in bookstores next week.
