Exhibition curated by Marian Bleeke.

"Matisse's Jazz" displays the Library's copy of Henri Matisse's famous livre d'artiste. Published in 1947, Jazz consists of a series of twenty brilliantly colored stencils with a lithographed text reproduced from the artist's handwritten original. Matisse's inspiration for this project included the circus, folklore, travel, mythology, and improvisational jazz.
