Cecilia directs the University of Chicago’s Map Collection and the GIS Hub, offers workshops on geospatial data, and is the subject specialist for Geography. She supports geospatial research and teaching by providing:
- GIS research consultations
- Research instruction to classes and groups
- Geospatial and cartographic reference

Cecilia is a member of the BTAA Geospatial Data Task Force, serving on the Steering Committee and as Chair of the Communication Committee. She is also co-convener the ACRL Digital Scholarship Section's Numeric and Geospatial Data Services Discussion Group. Cecilia manages the Mapping UChicago Project and supports the US Covid Atlas as a member of the Coalition Design & Communications Team.
