Director of Teaching and Academic Engagement

Rebecca Starkey

I oversee the University of Chicago Library's research and instruction services, which help researchers explore and use our rich collections, and direct them to the many services and resources available to them to support their academic and professional work. I invite students, faculty, and staff to contact me to learn more about the Library's services to support our broad community of researchers.

I serve as the Library's liaison to The College at the University of Chicago, developing partnerships with offices that focus on undergraduate student success, including the Center for Research and Fellowships, the Center for College Student Success, and the College Programming Office. The Library also works with faculty to support undergraduate teaching and learning.

I also am the subject librarian for the fields of Education and Library Science, purchasing materials for the Library's collections, and providing reference assistance to researchers interested in these fields.
