Construction of the Center for Digital Scholarship begins the week of June 12

The University of Chicago Library will be building a new home for its Center for Digital Scholarship (CDS) on Regenstein’s First Floor, reimagining much of the space between the Dissertation Office and Circulation. Renovations will begin the week of June 12 and are expected to be finished in the fall.

While this new Center will provide a vital hub for digital scholarship activity, University of Chicago Library staff are already available to provide a wide variety of workshops, consultations, and services to the University of Chicago community enabling you to:

Library staff can collaborate with faculty and train students on use of data and other digital assets at every stage of the digital scholarship lifecycle.

Construction

The area shaded in yellow below indicates the area of work.

Access to the Ex Libris Café, copiers and the circulation desk will remain open during construction, however the path along the east wall from Ex Libris to the Circulation desk will be closed by construction barriers. Some soft seating areas may be temporarily relocated.

The construction hours will generally be from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday. Noisy work will be scheduled to take place before 10 a.m. as much as possible.
