The American Mathematical Society

To help strengthen the study of mathematics in the United States, Moore devoted much of his energy to the American Mathematical Society (AMS). He served as president from 1902-3 and established a chapter of the AMS in Chicago. He also helped found the Transactions of the American Mathematical Society, serving as founding editor from 1899-1907.
