CSIL Crerar Computer Lab CSIL: Computer Science Instructional Laboratory
The John Crerar Library
CSIL (Computer Science Instructional Laboratory) is a group of classrooms and computers located in Crerar Library but managed by the Computer Science department. When classes and events are not taking place, users can access the Apple computers in and around two of the classrooms, although computer science students and those doing academic work have priority.

Much of the 1st floor of Crerar is currently under construction, however CSIL, the Mother's Room, restrooms, and a meal area in a future cafe space are all available during construction.

The Crerar Lounge is located in Lower Level East, before you enter the library gate. It provides access to PSD Graphic Arts, the Crerar Computer Classroom, and the Hospital tunnel. It is the primary Meal Zone in Crerar.

Ex Libris Cafe is a student-run cafe located in the northeast corner of the 1st Floor of Regenstein. The café provides a welcoming space that can comfortably seat 75 users. The Ex Libris seating area remains open during all the hours that Regenstein is open, including All-Night Study hours. Ex Libris and the A Level are the only spaces in Regenstein where meals and messy or smelly food are permitted.

Library Classrooms are primarily intended for formal instruction sessions by library staff and special class sessions by University faculty. During regular teaching hours, groups may use library classrooms on a first come, first served basis only when the classroom has not been reserved for an instruction session. Groups should vacate a classroom at least 10 minutes prior to the start time of a posted session. Groups may reserve library classrooms outside of regular teaching hours only.

The Mansueto Viewing & Listening Station is a private study room that provides individual patrons with equipment to listen to audio recordings from the Recordings Collection, and is also equipped with a microform scanner. Patrons may request to use the Viewing & Listening Station at the Mansueto Circulation Desk.

The Nursing Mother's & Women's Prayer Room is for the exclusive use of nursing mothers and women seeking a prayer space who are currently affiliated with the University and visiting researchers using the Library's collections. This private room is available for up to one hour increments. Regenstein Room B-51 is located on the building's B Level and is ADA-compliant and accessible.

Social Service Administration Library
The SSA Library reading room is a large open space with a southern exposure of floor-to-ceiling windows allowing for lots of natural light during the day. There are a variety of seating options including couches, a rocking chair, large tables for spreading out your materials, and a pinwheel study carrel. There is also a smaller study area behind the bookstacks with single-user desks. Most of the furniture was either designed or selected by Mies van der Rohe.
